Brad Richmond wins the KSID Country Showdown

SIDNEY, Neb. - The 36th Annual Country Showdown local competition took place Saturday night, August 5, at the Sidney Elks Club. Seven artists ranging from the age of 14 to 78 and coming from as far away as South Dakota competed for a chance to go to the regional competition.

Brad Richmond, who is no stranger to the Country Showdown, was chosen as the winner by the four judges, Phil Dalrymple, Mike Mead, Will Schwark, and Larry Stoll, based on a combination of musical talent, stage presence, charisma, musicianship, and originality.

Richmond will now advance to the regional final in Copper Mountain, Colorado, on September 3 as he attempts to make his way back to Nashville after reaching the Country Showdown Finals in January 2016. Regional winners receive an all-expense paid trip to the National Final to compete for the $100,000 Grand Prize and national title.

Brad’s love of music was sparked at the age of 4 when his father gave him an old cassette tape of Buddy Holly. One of his favorite past times is pickin’ his guitar and singing everything from old and new country music to church hymns. Brad and his wife Rebecca have a passion for writing Country music and Contemporary Christian Music. Brad is a featured performer throughout the plains of Colorado.

The KSID Country Showdown also featured N8 Morgan (Nathan Morgan) who came in second, along with Natasha Bree (Natasha Ingraham) who placed third. The other performers included Chris Gutierrez, Brent Jeppson, Kaitlyn Darnall, and Lockhart Special (Dave Lockhart).
