Feddersen pleads not guilty

SIDNEY Neb. - An 18-year old teen accused of breaking into a Sidney home, assaulting a resident with a crowbar and stealing $3,000 plead not guilty in Cheyenne County District Court Wednesday morning.

The state has charged Jackson Feddersen with six counts that include: Robbery, a class II felony, Use Of A Deadly Weapon To Commit A Felony, a class II felony, Second Degree Assault, a class IIA felony, Burglary, a class IIA felony, Strangulation, a class IIIA felony and Terroristic Threats, a class IIIA felony.

If convicted, Feddersen could face 1-50 years imprisonment for each class II felony,  20 years for each IIA felony, and 3 years of imprisonment and 18 months of post release supervision for each IIIA felony.

According to the arrest affidavit, on August 31, the Sidney Police Department responded to a house on Spruce Street, and upon arrival, authorities located an injured 19-year old male. The officer on scene said the victim’s face was covered in blood, and the victim’s belongings scattered. There was an open window with the screen cut open in the bathroom that the victim said two males with masks entered through.

The victim said he was woken up by getting hit in the back and head with a crowbar, punched in the face, and choked by a man with a ski mask. The teen said that he was able to remove the mask and recognized the attacker as Feddersen. The victim's injuries were later determined to be minor.

Status hearing is set for December 6 at 8:30am. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
