Weather delays Illinois Street paving

SIDNEY, Neb. - Asphalt laying is scheduled to begin later this week on Illinois Street in downtown Sidney. Nebraska Department of Transportation Construction Engineer Drew Parks said that because of weather and equipment schedule delays, paving will begin a few days later than planned. Work was supposed to begin Monday but was postponed due to snow and will now start on Wednesday or Thursday.

Paving Illinois Street is expected to take about three weeks and should be completed by early November with the entire project finished by mid November.

Sidney native Chris Lambrecht will be replacing Sayed Torak as Nebraska Department of Transportation project manager.
