Local veteran displays military uniforms for Veteran’s Day

SIDNEY, Neb. - A local veteran is honoring Veteran’s Day by displaying his collection of uniforms throughout Sidney. Former Army Colonel Larry Nelson said that almost 80 mannequins and dress forms with authentic uniforms were placed in downtown stores, the middle school, and in Cabela’s.

The uniforms encompass a variety of eras from WWII to modern day and some are from vets in the Sidney area. Nelson, who is a member of the Sidney VFW post #610 said that he, “Encourages people to stop by to see the displays and remember Veteran’s Day.”

Nelson served in the reserves from 1968-1999, and in active duty from 1999-2005.
