Leyton One Acts team qualifies for state

DALTON, Neb. - The Leyton One Acts team has qualified for the state competition for the first time since 1984. The cast will be performing the play, “Lock Down” on Wednesday in Norfolk in the Johnny Carson Theater.

The play is about nine students and their teacher in an "official lockdown," not knowing if it's just a drill or an actual emergency. When a hysterical younger girl bolts from the room and the teacher follows, the remaining students are left alone to decide if it's safer to stay or run.

Leyton qualified for state by winning the Class D-1 District 6 title on November 29 at Creek Valley High School. The play is directed by Brandi Woten. This is Woten’s first year at Leyton and she said that, “These kids turned me into a Warrior!”
