Man arrested and another hospitalized after Sidney stabbing

SIDNEY, Neb. - Authorities responded to a residence on Deborah Drive Wednesday morning in Sidney where a man suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to his side.

According to the arrest affidavit, 21-year old Zackery Clark was charged with Second Degree Assault and Use Of A Weapon To Commit a Felony.

When officers arrived, Clark had a cut above his eye. Clark told authorities that he was punched by his step father, Shawn Billinger when the two were arguing about paying rent. Clark said that Billinger broke through his locked bedroom door, got on top of Clark and punched him once or twice. Clark said that he already had a knife when Billinger broke through the door, and believes the stabbing occurred when he tried to push Billinger away. The assault stopped when Clark’s mother allegedly pulled Billinger off of Clark.

Clark also said to authorities that he and Billinger used meth one and a half days prior to the incident, and believes Billinger is upset because he is out of meth and wants to purchase more.

Clark was booked into the Cheyenne County Jail and Billinger is being treated at the Sidney Regional Medical Center.
