City Council votes to sell Sidney Industrial Park lot in return for job creation

SIDNEY, Neb. - A new startup business is going to   begin operation in Sidney’s Industrial Park. The sporting goods business will be an online retail store that offers hunting, shooting and camping products.

Project Success is currently utilizing space on the WNCC campus, and plans to launch their website June 1. Currently the business is made of six members, although other positions will eventually be needed as the business grows.

The Sidney City Council voted Tuesday to allow the firm to acquire eight acres of industrial park, valued at $160,000, at no charge from the city. A warehouse will be built on the lot and used as a distribution center. In return, Project Success will have to create 12 new jobs adding up to $640,000 in payroll for one year. The business will be investing a total of $1.2 million in start up costs.

Infrastructure was placed at Industrial Park located on the east end of Sidney utilizing Economic Development Plan funds. This is the second sale of property at the park.
