Rockies blow eight-run lead, walk-off against Giants

DENVER, Col. - Game one of a four game NL West series began last night in Denver as the Colorado Rockies hosted the San Francisco Giants.

It was an offensive showcase early on for the Rockies as they chased Matt Moore after three innings on the mound and allowing eight earned runs. By the end of the sixth, the home team held a seemingly comfortable 9-1 lead.

The Rockies bullpen started to falter in the seventh as Buster Posey crushed a two-run homer to left center sparking a Giants rally as San Fran came all the way back to tie the game in the ninth as Rockies closer Greg Holland blew his first save of the season.

But, the rookie saved the day as Raimel Tapia hit a walkoff single in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Mark Reynolds, and the Rockies recovered to beat the Giants 10-9. The Rox won for the 10th time in 14 games this month.

Game two of the series starts tonight at 6:40 local time with Antonio Senzatela on the mound for Colorado versus Jeff Samardzija.
