Husker AD Moos: Miles will remain at Nebraska

Tim Miles will return for a seventh
season at Nebraska. He’s 97-97
through his first six years in Lincoln.

The speculation is over: Tim Miles will be Nebraska’s head basketball coach next season.

Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos confirmed the news to HuskerOnline in an interview on Tuesday morning.

Moos said he and Coach Miles are still working out “some numbers and details” in terms of a contract extension.

In his sixth season, Miles just led the Huskers to their second best season-record in program history, going 22-11 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten.

13 conference wins are the most ever for a Nebraska basketball team. The Huskers finished the regular season in fourth place in the Big Ten standings, earning a first-round bye in the Big Ten tournament.

Nebraska was left out of the NCAA tournament, and dropped all the way to a No. 5 seed in the National Invitational Tournament. The Huskers lost in the first round of the NIT at Mississippi State 66-59 on Mar. 14.

It was Nebraska’s first postseason appearance since 2014.
