Husker baseball earns first Big Ten series win

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska baseball team took two of three over the weekend against the Maryland Terrapins following Sunday’s 5-2 win. The series victory was their first this season in Big Ten conference play.

Senior Matt Warren earned the win after going a season-high 6.2 shutout innings. He recorded four strikeouts, while allowing five hits and one walk.

Another senior, Scott Schreiber, continued his torrid pace with a solo home run to right field in the fourth to put the Huskers on the board. It marked his second home run of the weekend, his 18th of the season and the 44th of his career to put him in a tie for fourth on Nebraska’s career chart with Alex Gordon.

The Huskers now sit one game below .500 at 22-23 overall and will face Creighton Tuesday evening in Omaha. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 MST and we’ll have coverage for you on 95.7 FM/1340 AM The Fort beginning just past 5:00.
